Easter was really good. We spent it with the other
sister missionaries and a Polynesian family (The Muaos) in another stake. It
was so awesome!! I love polys so much ha-ha. We had a music fireside where we all sang and shared our testimonies and
ate lots of poly food! The atmosphere was so great because Polynesians just
love EVERYONE it doesn't matter where you come from, we are all brothers and
sisters and children of our Heavenly Father, and one day we will all be
brothers and sisters in heaven again. This was the testimony I shared because
the people down here make us feel so welcome, like we are a part of their
family. There are lots of members with kids serving missions and by feeding us
or giving us rides or coming to lessons with us they do it because they hope
their missionaries will get treated the same way. We are all connected by this
gospel and by our Brother Jesus Christ. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane
and on the cross for all of us, and commanded that we all love one another and
take care of each other. I think the Polynesian culture does an amazing job of
living this principle of the gospel. :) I want to go to Samoa someday.
Thank you so much for sending my the picture of you in
the musical. I love it. I meant to write you about someone we are working with.
He reminds me of you. His name is Felipe Reyes. He is a less active member who
is coming back to church, but he's doing it at his own pace. He loves when we
come visit and listen to him. He plays guitar and has played for many years. He
even kind of looks like you. He talks to us about how his dad, who is his hero
and was a very active member in the church, use to always tell him to find
things out for himself and to stand up for himself and was a very kind person.
I told him that my dad raised me the same way. Felipe kind of looks at me like
the daughter he never had. I can tell because sometimes he only talks to me and
ignores my companion. He's about your age. I told him you play guitar too and
speak Spanish. I will send you a picture.
I miss you and hope you are doing well. Keep praying and
reading the scriptures every day! That is how we nourish our spirits each and
every day.
